According to GitHub data, Cardano is ahead in terms of daily
development activity and outperforms other blockchains such as Polkadot,
Ethereum, Decentraland and Chainlink.
IOG, the constructor of Cardano, in alliance with the
Cardano Foundation, has submitted an altered proposition to enhance the Cardano
pre-production atmosphere to protocol v8.
Upcoming Changes for Valentine's Day are Coming Soon
The Valentine (SECP) upgrade for Cardano is nearing
completion, with the purpose of increasing blockchain interoperability and
developing secure cross-chain dApps through Plutus.
IOHK said in his tweet, "The Valentine upgrade for Cardano is intended to bolster secure cross-chain DApp creation with Plutus, as well as promote blockchain interoperability."
U Today reports that, the Valentine (SECP) upgrade is projected to be present in
the preproduction environment on Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at midnight UTC.
It is expected to be launched on the mainnet on February 14th, 2023 at 21:44:51
UTC.
IOG, the Cardano Foundation, and EMURGO are making sure the
necessary parties are ready for the new capability that this upgrade carries.
Although this upgrade is not as complex as others and its effects aren't as
widespread, they are still working with Cardano stakeholders such as SPOs,
dApps, and exchanges.
An ecosystem readiness post claims that the proportion of
SPOs that have adopted the necessary new node is greater than 77%, and the
amount of blocks generated has surpassed 86%. This is higher than the 75% of
blocks that were expected to be created by the time of the upgrade.
It has been proclaimed that exchanges must upgrade, and any
dApps must be brought up to the new protocol version in order to be functional. [pc]
